Description

GU13058200 Automatic timing chain tensioner for Moto Guzzi big twins with timing chains. Spring loaded tensioner has a large blade which applies steady pressure to the chain, resulting in less chain whip and more accurate cam and ignition timing. This unit has been given many different names over the years, including "Banana", "Bow", Millepercento, Stucchi and Valtek. See model list below.

Helpful tips: Unit mounts to the front main bearing retaining bolts, it only fits one way; a third hand is helpful during installation but not required; the upper end of the plastic blade rests against the inside of timing chest; snug up the lock nut on the pivot prior to operation; finally, there is no need to plug the holes left by the original tensioning device.

These automatic tensioners have been on the global market for several decades now and are known to perform reliably in excess of 100,000 miles. Can be used as a replacement for original Guzzi automatic tensioner, part number 30057810.

For use in V7 Sport starting with engine number 33448, Eldorado starting with engine number 58532. 850T, 750S, S3, 850T3, T4, T5, Convert, G5, 850 LeMans, LeMans II, LeMans III, LeMans 1000 all years LeMans IV and LeMans V, SP1000, SP II, SP III, CX100, Strada, California II, California III, Mille GT, 1000S, Quota 1000, Quota ES, 1100 Sport carb, 1100 Sport injected, California 1100, California EV, EV Touring, Jackal, Bassa, California Special, California Stone, Special Sport, Stone Touring, Aluminum, Titanium, Metal, V11 Sport, V11 LeMans, Rosso Mandello, Scura, Tenni, V11 Cafe, V11 Naked, Ballabio, Coppa Italia
