This manual assumes that you are an "average enthusiast", working in your garage with ordinary tools, and that you are not a trained mechanic.  From the layman perspective, the manual shows work-around solutions to factory tools, and gives step by step instructions for most procedures.  Also from the layman perspective, some procedures (for example, setting up ring & pinion gears) are considered to be beyond the scope of the home workshop and are not covered.   In contrast, the factory manuals assume you are a mechanic, and refer you to factory tools.

Note about parts books, workshop manuals, workshop supplements, and owners manuals:

Because many of these  books are no longer available or out of print, and because we are not nor have ever been into photocopying, we've chosen not to carry any of them.  A little internet searching will turn up free, downloadable .pdf files of many manuals, parts books, supplements, and wiring diagrams.  These are generally found on individual Guzzi enthusiasts personal websites, and are offered as a courtesy community service for fellow enthusiasts.  You may not find the manual for particular model you are looking for, but chances are, if you ask around the internet community, you'll find someone that has the book, and someone willing to post it on his site.  See the following links to get started.   Or, if you'd rather not, you might try veteran Guzzi dealers "GT Motors" in Lansing Michigan at 517-485-6815 (Larry is very good with books and manuals).
