850-T3 Project Bike

Wondering what to do with that hulk T3 you have stuck in the corner of the garage?  Looking for another project?  This 850-T3 floor board model came my way back in November 2002, so over the winter I disassembled and refreshed it mechanically, then transformed it into a clone of an 850-T3 California. Parts availability for the T3 models is quite good.  Most of the parts to re-dress  a beat up old T3 in this manner, such as crashbars, handlebars, exhaust, saddlebags and mounts, etc. (but not the seat) are available new, and many of them are readily available on the used market.  Hopefully the seat will be reproduced again as used originals are not common here in the states.

The windscreen 18577251 is used on T3California, Convert, and G5, them mounting brackets are MG277 lower, and MG563 upper.  The aftermarket lower wind deflectors MEP5819 and mounts MEM9888 and are quite effective in helping contain the updraft coming under the main windscreen.

Bags and chrome mounting hardware dress it up and increase utility.  This one was a fun project.  Cruising style, good handling, triple disc brakes, and good suspension quickly made this a favorite rider.
